NAME: Kim Dokja
CANON: Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint
CANON POINT: Chapter 300, just after entering the Viceroy's Dimensional Door to return home.
AGE: 28
BACKGROUND: I learn from Hei's mistakes.
PERSONALITY:
Despite his want to appear cool and strong, like the protagonist of Ways of Survival, the core of Kim Dokja is a kind and loving person. He helps those in need and doesn't want anyone to die, to the point that he's sacrificed himself several times in order to achieve that goal. While it'd be easy for him to end up being a pessimist considering the life he'd lived due to his mother selling their family's tragedy to the media, how he'd been treated by the people around him since then, Dokja is a surprising optimist who doesn't want to see things end poorly if he can help it... and even if he can't, he isn't someone who can easily sit idly by.
You could call him a pretty stubborn bonehead in that sense. Once he latches onto an idea, it's hard or even impossible to pry him off it, because no matter what Dokja wants things to turn out the way he'd like them to, however that may be.
That said, this same devotion to others and his own goals leads to some of the worse sides of himself, the main being that failure digs at his core like salt into sore wounds. Having lived that life of loneliness and societal cruelty, Dokja is extremely self-deprecating and private: there are few people he'd give his trust to, for as much as he may come to like others he doesn't easily believe that the feeling is returned. He's very used to others not finding worth in him, though as it's shown time and time again Dokja does start to understand bit by bit how important he may be to others. It doesn't stop him from stumbling once he has to improvise or faltering when something doesn't go according to plan, but it does keep him on the straight and narrow of finding the "end" he seeks.
Still, once you've got it you've got it.
Towards others, Dokja is polite and friendly at first meeting. Depending on how things go, he can be teasing and playful, poking fun at those he likes and burdening their stories as if they were his own, and to those he dislikes he's rude and provocative, often toeing lines and pushing his limits with situations. This does include with those of a higher authority than him, because even the Constellations didn't catch a break from his seemingly carefree attitude and way of speaking once he had the floor, and since the very beginning he held Bihyung, the Dokkaebi he made a deal with, to the same status as himself, versus someone who was higher (which he was, technically, as the streamer of that particular channel.)
Generally speaking, he's oddly good with kids, friendly towards those his age, and respectful towards those older: with Lee Gilyoung, Shin Yoosung, and Biyoo (the dokkaebi he helped hatch) he's extremely soft and warm, often ruffling their hair and doing all he can to comfort their worries; with Lee Hyunsung, Yoo Sangah, and Jung Heewon he treats them as colleagues or coworkers, though with Yoo Sangah this is particular prominent due to the fact that she was his coworker when the world wasn't what it was now; towards elders, such as grandmothers, sages, wisemen, etc, Dokja speaks in a formal manner and listens well to what they have to say, so long as he knows they aren't of a bad intention. The exceptions to the latter are people who's shown him contempt or to whom he feels dislike towards to in the past, like his former boss Han Myungoh (who often bullied him in the work place) and his mother Lee Sookyung (who sold their family's tragedy to the media for her own reasons). He tends to be rather abrasive and short with words, though as time goes on he softens just a bit thanks to circumstances.
He doesn't seem to get along well with teenagers on the other hand, but that doesn't mean he disrespects or demeans them either; it's just something held over from lonely high school years, possibly, when he wasn't able to connect to those of that age himself... thought it doesn't help that many of the teenagers he's met are kind of outspoken. He also doesn't believe in a strict "good" or "bad" sort of scale, and he never would be able to due to the sins he's committed himself; Dokja wouldn't qualify himself as either either, given he let others die earlier in the scenarios with the excuse of that it was "necessary" and now strives to save every life he can, no matter how inconsequential.
POWERS/ABILITIES: Here. However, Eight Lives (Hero) no longer applies.
For nerfing some of his skills:
Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint 3rd Level: He will only be able to partially control others.
Bookmark: Can only bookmark skills from people he recognizes as "characters" in a tale from the first place, and still requires an understanding of them.
Fourth Wall: The Library Dimension no longer exists.
Character List: No longer functions.
As a note, being that Dokja is of a Fable Grade Constellation, he has some powers unique to that... The main two being his True Voice, which cows most people unless they have a strong will, and the natural Pressure a Constellation has when releasing their status to show their strength. Dokja doesn't tend to use either very often unless he absolutely needs to, and the pressure Dokja tends to release leans more on the side of "instinctual hair-raising" versus the killing most Constellations end up doing.
INVENTORY:
• White Infinite Dimension Space Coat - A white coat that acts as hammerspace for Dokja, and has regenerative powers. It'll basically heal its own durability.
• Smartphone - It's just a smartphone. It has the Ways of Survival on it.
• About 4 million coins... which I am humbly be requested they turn into physical chocolate coins, since they're useless in a digital sense here; they'll be within his White Infinite Dimension Space Coat for safe keeping.
• Midday Tryst - An item that functions as a telepathic chat window of a kind? It's active for a specific period of time, in which it requires a new subscription to be bought essentially, but someone's been extended the time for three years...
• The Fourth Wall - While it is an ability, the fact it can communicate and is sentient enough to act on its own to an extent gives it just as much reason to be a "pet" in this sense. Should it be need given a form, a floating scroll will do.

[Kim Dokja hadn't expected this when he returned through the Viceroy's Dimensional Door.
What he had expected Seoul, however long it had been since his "death" at that point, and the consequence of "returning" from a different world. But this city was far grander, far more explosive in colors and lights, and far more alive than the Seoul he had known in the past scenarios could've ever hoped to be with the Way of Survivals in full swing.
The people, too, were strange in some forms. They reminded him of returnees in a sense, having different appearances than the normal humans, but as far as he could tell they weren't disasters. In fact, this was a world that hadn't been touched by "disaster" the way Earth had been... Okay.]
In other words, the Secretive Plotter didn't fulfill his end of the deal.
[No constellations responded to his words. Actually, thinking about it, he couldn't send any indirects either, nor could he check anyone's Character Lists... In other words--]
This isn't a world in the novel...
[The Fourth Wall, which he apparently still had access to, wriggled uncomfortably. This world was a "reality", or another "novel" entirely... It was an entirely different situation than he'd faced so far, but Dokja didn't feel too nervous. No, he was definitely nervous, but nothing'd be solved just standing around.
All he had to do was start by gaining information. And that meant he needed to start with the people around him.]
